We’re Not Just Hosting Another Program…

We’re creating a foundation for emotional wellness that kids can carry with them for the rest of their lives.

What We Do

At Just Breathe CU, we guide children through a supportive and engaging experience designed to help them better understand themselves, build confidence, and feel more in control of their emotions.

Rather than overwhelming them with information, we introduce simple, age-appropriate tools in a way that feels natural, interactive, and easy to apply in everyday life.

Throughout our summer and after-school programs, kids are supported in activities that support them in the following:

  • Understanding and naming their emotions
  • Responding to challenges with confidence instead of fear or shutdown
  • Developing a healthier and more positive self-image and a deeper relationship with themselves
  • Learning how to navigate friendships and social situations
  • Feeling safe expressing themselves without judgment

Our approach blends guided activities, movement, reflection, and connection in a way that keeps girls engaged while helping the lessons truly stick.

Each experience is intentionally designed to meet kids where they are—while helping them grow into who they’re becoming.

Why We Care!

🌿 1. Confidence is Dropping Earlier Than Ever

Children begin forming beliefs about themselves much earlier than many people realize. Research shows that a child’s sense of self-esteem is already developing by age five.
That means the early childhood and elementary-school years are a critical time for helping children develop a healthy relationship with themselves.
At Just Breathe, we believe confidence should be nurtured early—not something children have to struggle to “find” later in life. By giving them supportive tools now, we can help children understand their emotions, trust who they are, and grow without feeling like they need to shrink themselves to be accepted.

🌸 2. Bullying and Emotional Struggles Are Closely Connected

Bullying is more common than many people realize—and its effects go far beyond the moment.
Research shows that students who experience bullying are nearly twice as likely to struggle with anxiety and depression.
Bullying is also linked to long-term emotional distress, low self-esteem, and difficulty feeling safe in social spaces.
We care because no child should feel alone, unsafe, or unsure of their worth.
Our program helps girls build the internal tools to navigate these challenges with confidence, emotional awareness, and support.

🌼 3. Mental Health Support Needs to Start Early

Mental and emotional challenges are not just a teenage or adult concern.
Research shows that 10–20% of children experience mental health challenges, including anxiety, low mood, and difficulty regulating emotions.
And many of these patterns begin in childhood.
That’s why early support matters.
At Just Breathe, we focus on giving children simple, age-appropriate tools they can actually use—so they don’t have to wait until they’re overwhelmed to learn how to care for themselves.
